TelcoReliant ICSArchitect SpecificationsA dual purpose telephone / public address system shall be provided for interior communication aboard the vessel. The system shall be a Multicom Telco Reliant or equivalent, and shall be capable of dialing up to 8 individual stations for two way individual communication, as well as access one way shipboard communication through a series of installed speakers. Each Telco Reliant station shall be capable of individually dialing one or more other Telco Reliant stations for the purpose of two way private conversations. Additionally, each station shall be able to address the vessel wide speaker system by pressing a code into the keypad. The two way communication stations shall be installed in the following areas of the vessel:
NOTE: Please individualize locations and numbers of stations at each location. We do recommend 2 stations in the Pilot House and Engine Room. A series of installed speakers throughout the vessels interior and exterior shall be installed to facilitate one way communication (paging). Exterior speakers shall be waterproof and suitable for weatherdeck application. Speakers shall be Multicom NOTE: Outline speaker locations here The Control center for the Multicom Telco Reliant shall be installed in or directly adjacent to the Pilot House. Speaker wiring shall be distributed equally port and starboard to keep as many speakers on each deck active in the case of failure of cabling on any side of the vessel. OPTION: Pilot Microphone The pilot shall have a (handheld / gooseneck) microphone installed on the main console with a push to talk switch that, when engaged, has priority over all other announcements and is broadcast to all speakers on the vessel. OPTION: Digital General Alarm A General alarm system shall be integrated to the Telco Reliant System, and will be accessible by contactor on the bridge, or by code through the Telco Reliant stations. The system shall be digital and broadcast over the speaker system installed in the vessel. The system shall be a Multicom Digital General Alarm Module Model DGA or equivalent. OPTION: Entertainment System A music entertainment system shall be integrated to the public address system. The system shall allow for the broadcast of AM/FM music throughout the vessel. The system shall be integrated into the Multicom Telco Reliant, so that announcements from the pilot microphone or Telco Reliant stations shall immediately mute the music. Any General Alarm sounding shall mute as well as disconnect the music system from the amplifiers until ops normal has returned. |
