Digital Alarms are standard with most of the Multicom ICS systems. However, for existing systems of the common talk line of ICS where Digital General alarm is optional, Multicom provides our Digital General Alarm System as a standalone system. Most older vessels can also be retrofitted with a Multicom Digital General Alarm and immediately enjoy savings and better alarm quality in the first year of operation.

No More Mechanical Bells! Utilizing your integrated Multicom ICS System Speakers can completely eliminate the need for mechanical bells for general alarm. The sound is recorded and stored in a permanent, non-volatile memory digital playback over the public address system.

You save money with Multicom Digital Alarms in several ways:
• For new vessels, Multicom Digital Alarm is less expensive to install than a standard old fashioned mechanical red bell system.

• For existing vessels, Multicom's Digital General Alarm can be retrofitted into your existing public address system, usually with few changes or additions. The system cost is typically the cost of bell replacement for that year, and the ongoing costs due to failures will be low if any (speaker replacement costs vs. mechanical bell).

• There is virtually no need for monthly or even yearly bell repairs with Multicom's Digital General Alarm... so it is less expensive to operate. There are no mechanical moving parts to wear out on a Multicom Digital General Alarm System, so the cost of operation and the incidence of failure is considerably lower.
