Command Talkback 20Architect SpecificationsThe vessel shall have a system for communicating through speakers to passengers and crew. The system shall be housed in or directly adjacent to the pilot house with controls permanently installed at the pilot console. The system shall be capable of one way announcements to all manned spaces, as well as two way communications at specific areas of the vessel. The System shall be a Multicom ICS Command Talkback CT20 (with) (options and extras inserted here) Option 1: Public Address Interface (connecting to separate public address) This system shall be capable of multiple or separate hands free communication from the operator/pilot and stations throughout the vessel. Upon calling from a station, the operator/pilot will be alerted of an incoming call from a remote station and be able to converse to the call originator hands free. OPTION 1: Public Address through other system The system shall also be capable of originating shipboard announcements, both general and emergency to all manned areas of the vessel by integrating with the (existing) public address system. Interface shall be set up in a manner to give the pilot the highest paging authority at all times. OPTION 2: Public Address through CT20 The system shall also be capable of originating shipboard announcements, both general and emergency. All manned interior spaces, corridors and cabins shall have overhead speakers installed. Speakers shall be appropriate for the overhead in form, fit, style and color. Interior speakers shall be Multicom Model __________: (If more than one speaker type, place detail here) Each interior deck shall have at least two feed lines from the main console in or adjacent to the pilot house. One line shall transverse port route while the other shall transverse a starboard route. Cabling shall be adequate in size and type for both applicable inspecting agencies approval as well as appropriate for carrying the proper voltage to the speakers with minimum loss. All external weather deck areas shall have weatherproof speakers installed. Speakers shall be appropriate for the mounting area in form, fit, style and color. External speakers shall be Multicom (insert style and type here) (If more than one speaker type, place detail here) Each exterior deck shall have at least two feed lines from the main console in or adjacent to the pilot house. One line shall transverse port route while the other shall transverse a starboard route. Cabling shall be adequate in size and type for both applicable inspecting agencies approval as well as appropriate for carrying the proper voltage to the speakers with minimum loss. Cabling (may/should) be installed internally to the exterior bulkhead with the proper watertight fittings and termination boxes used at all speaker locations. Great care shall be taken to hide or eliminate from view any and all external cabling whenever possible. Talkback Stations Weatherproof talkback units (Multicom model _____) shall be placed in the following areas of the vessel: (up to 20 locations) 1. 6. These talkback areas shall have 2 pair, 18 or 20 gauge cable home run from the location to the CT 20 controller on the bridge. Each location requires a separate run. OPTIONS 3,4 & 5: The Multicom ICS Command Talkback CT20 will also be used as a communication switchboard for wireless and telephonic communication onboard. All external and internal communication sources for integration must be present at the central control unit of the CT20, and co-ordination with the various manufacturers must take place to provide the proper interface modules. OPTION 6: GENERAL ALARM (Place in General Alarm Section of Spec) The General Alarm system shall be a Multicom CT20. The General Alarm is fully integrated into the system, so no additional equipment will be required. The integrated General Alarm system shall be configured to meet or exceed the regulatory inspecting body for the vessel. |
